My Jewelry Journey

Today is a new day for me, I feel like I'm an up and coming jewelry artist for a change. Sometimes I feel like all that I am is a bead stringer, like anyone can string beads.. but yesterday I finally made my own Polymer Clay beads and I had a blast!! I also just purchased a kiln so I can start making my own silver jewelry.
It's been quite a journey, but, I give this one to God, I give him all the glory for bringing jewelry into my life. It has literally saved me when times have been bad, because of all my medical problem, life sometimes can get me down, but the jewelry brings me back up. When I am in my Craft Room, nothing, I mean nothing can bring me down.!!

If you get a chance, please visit my Facebook Page for all my updates and latest photos of my work.

So lately,

I've been working a lot with Copper, Brass, Silver Wire and all sorts of Chain. I think I am in heaven. I imagine if I died this what heaven would be like with my Mom there too. :) I'm like a kid in a candy store in my Craft Room. It is where I go to feel peace when I don't feel good, or I'm just upset or really mad about a situation. I love working with beads, wire, metal, chain, etc,...
Lately, I've been wanting to give more to the community because of how blessed I am!! I feel it's the right thing to do, GIVE BACK, PAY IT FORWARD!! Why not?? Anyhow, enough blabbering. I just wanted to posted my latest jewelry experiments..

What do you think? I'm now mixing Copper with Silver Chain, I think it looks pretty cool.. and the other Silver Necklace is also an experiment, I drilled the holes in the teardrop pendant and added the Dragonfly and Chain. I think it's interesting, not sure how it's going to go over, overall.

Anyhow, I must lay down, still not quite over the flu.

I've decided that I LOVE GIVING MY JEWELRY AWAY!! So, everyweek, probably once or twice a week I am going to do Jewelry Trivia. I will either give away a certain item, or make a custom item for the winner. Like I've said before, I would rather give it away than sell it. BUT, I must sell it to make more jewelry, so, I must continue my Shows.
Thanks to all who participated in Todays Trivia: Mike Casagranda won a Lovely Custom Bracelet for his Beautiful Wife.. Congrats MIKE~~~

The Surf VerBoom Fundraiser Post

I have learned in my lifetime, that all the things I thought were really big, are so very very small. This little guy is 2 years old and has Stage 4 Kidney Cancer.

I check my email everyday, checking for sales on this, or a joke about that. But a few days after the New Year I recieved an email about Little Surf VerBoom. He's not well with a very serious Cancer. I was floored!! All those little things I was worried about seemed like nothing compared to this!!!

I sat their on the couch crying about it thinking: I wish there was something I could do? Why him God?? Why not me?? I'll take it!!

I know I can't change what Surf has but there is something I can do!! Have a fundraiser to help this family get through this very difficult time. What I really want is for people to just show up. You don't even have to come in. JUST SHOW UP~!!! Be supportive. Show you care!!

We are very hopeful for a BIG, HUGE, GIGANTIC TURN OUT!! It's for such a good cause.

Please commit to one day, Feb 19th, Billcos in Napa at 1234 3rd St, 1-6pm

There is going to be Free Pool Playing, Live Music, Great food, Bake Sale, Silent Auction and a wonderful Raffle!!

Can you commit? Can you help?

If you can, thank you from the bottom of my heart and from the bottom of Surf's heart. <3

The tides are changing

Well 2010 came and went. Some things were good, some were bad. What else is new?

Our family has been looking for our beautiful niece Tiarra Nicole for many years and the day after Christmas she was found. It was truly a Grand Christmas present. Things happen in mysterious ways and in their own time. What a great end to the year!

My Arts & Crafts business was a trip. The starting of it to now seems like years but it hasn't been. I've learned a lot just by doing it. Again, some good - some bad. Two things I learned: I will never, ever, ever do another 1st annual anything and I wont do a show where I have to get a hotel.. Forget that headache. Not worth it to me. Another thing I found out is I still love making jewelry. I love the other Crafts I do but there's just nothing like making jewelry. I know one thing, when you love to do something so much, you just can't stop. So, the stuff starts piling up and ya have to either give it away, sell it or donate it. :) All are fine with me.

I also purchased a Tumbler for twisted copper and silver.. What an amazing addition to my jewelry technique.. Oh what fun I am having with this. I remember when I first started making jewelry, I was so intimidated by wire work, now I can't get enough when my hands will let me. The arthritis is really bad, so It's not as easy as beading.

Another thing I can't wait for it all the paper crafts I've been dying to do. Like Halloween, Valentines Day and Christmas Paper Bags, Cards, Decorations, Etc,.. I'm stoked.

This is all great therapy for me in this battle again Fybromyalgia. It's the thing that keeps me from going crazy, besides the awesom people in my life.

Thanks again to my awesome friend Lisa Kewish, who has inspired my wire working art. You rock Lisa!!

Well, time to go and create, until next time................................ ;)
